Sometimes the art director wants that cuff to be a bit more constrained to the wrist, or that dress to just cling a bit closer to the body round the waist. There are a number of ways to deal with this request, but probably the simplest is to use a soft binding (Carbon binding with a non-zero radius) which allows a bit of movement, constrained to the character (collider). Adjusting the stiffness and radius to taste you can art direct the result. You can also animate and use paint maps with the binding.

As a teaser to the next Carbon build for Houdini and Maya, later in March - we have been further extending the capability of the binding and its going to be able to help you do some real magical stuff :)
